Kings of Modesty
Kings of Modesty
Kings of Modesty's history goes back to 1994 when the band was formed by guitarist Samuel Hjelt and drummer Rane Simoinen. They asked their friend Henkka Tuura to play bass and Samuel's older brother Mikael to play keyboards. Four years ago and after a few lead singers the band asked their old friend Jason Flinck to join their band and hence the current line-up was born. Originally the band took the name Face of Modesty, but changed to Kings of Modesty at the time as Jason joined the band. Although yet to release their debut album, Kings of Modesty started to gain a lot of attention playing around Europe including opening slots for the Michael Schenker Group and Tarja Turunen (formerly of Nightwish). In 2007 Kings of Modesty recorded a promo EP which included four songs; "Suicidal Mission", "Staring Eyes", "Tailspin" and "Miracle". The EP gained a lot of interest and "Miracle" was played by several radio stations in the US. The band continued touring and in the fall of 2008 Samuel Hjelt and Jason Flinck started to produce their debut commercial release "Hell or Highwater". Released throughout Europe in June 2009 and digitally world-wide in November of the same year, Hell or Highwater is an eleven song opus proving epic progressive metal is still relevant.
