Drexel Baker III was born in Louisiana and grew up in Arkansas. He has lived all over the US and even in Australia, but not until he moved to New York did he begin to mine these experiences and record the songs he had been writing all along the way. With up and coming producer Mark Turrigiano (Ingrid
Michaelson) and multi-instrumentalists Geoff Curran, Charles Wyrick, and Jason Weinheimer, Drexel traveled between New York and Arkansas constructing his sophomore release. Other friends filled out the collective that eventually became known
as the Bootleggers. Green Sky follows in the traditions of Tom Petty, Neil Young, and Paul Westerberg, as Drexel expresses outside ideas and attitudes through familiar rock rhythms. |
